Is United the worst airline in the World?

Graham Marshall - Friday, July 08, 2011
I'm quite a frequent flyer.  I make around 2-3 trips from Australia to Europe or Africa and a couple of trips to the USA each year.  I also make about 10-15 domestic trips within Australia each year.

So I know a bit about a lot of different airlines...

On my current visit to the USA I decided to give United Airlines a try.  Now I've only made two flights with them.

The first was from LA via Denver to Minot in North Dakota in June.  The second was the return from Minot to LAX to meet up with my wife and kids for a holiday starting today (8th July).

Now what I've found is that United Airlines have canceled both my booked flights out of Denver.

The first time resulted in a travel delay of 8 hours.  The delay today adds another 5 hours to the total.

The so-called "customer services" representatives don't quite live up to their job titles either.

I've been flying for business and pleasure for over 25 years and I can't honestly think of missing another flight due to any other airline cancelation.  United Airlines have managed to make this occur twice in two weeks!

So my question for you to consider - is United Airlines the World's worst carrier?

Feel free to leave a comment about your experiences with United Airlines.

PS - once I arrived into LAX they then managed to lose my luggage.

BP Safety Culture Survey

Graham Marshall - Wednesday, April 06, 2011
At the Risk Management Toolbox, our mainstay clients have been bigger organizations like ENI Australia, British Gas, BP and Petronas.

Over the years I've developed numerous hazard awareness tools, JSA or JHA tools, risk assessment tools, behavioural safety tools, Safety Posters, Hazard and Operability (Hazop) Analysis tools, tool box talks and a range of other health and safety and risk management tools for those clients.

To give new customers the confidence to buy the products of the website or to get in touch about some of our HSE services, this week I'm running a series of testimonials that I've received over the years.

I hope these will give you the confidence that you're buying the best available tools from a reputable Australian business.

As always, feel free to look round the risk management shop, to buy some products or to get in touch about any safety issues that are puzzling you.

Risk Management Testimonial

Graham Marshall - Sunday, April 03, 2011
I won't beat about the bush here - the purpose of the Risk Management Toolbox Shop is to sell our fantastic hazard and risk management products to a new and non-traditional client base.

Simply put, we want to use the internet to reach a wide audience of OHS and HSE Advisors, safety professionals and business owners in small to medium-size enterprizes (SMEs) who we have not previously been able to reach.

Our traditional customers have been at the big-end of town and include household names like Shell, Woodside Energy, Bhp Billiton, Western Mining Corporation, Sandvik Mining and Construction, Santos and Hess Corporation.

On our site you'll find hazard awareness tools, JSA or JHA tools, risk assessment tools, behavioural safety tools, Safety Posters, Hazard and Operability (Hazop) Analysis tools, tool box talks and a range of other health and safety and risk management tools.

To give new customers the confidence to buy our products or to get in touch about some of our HSE services, this week I'm running a series of testimonials that I've received over the years.  Hopefully these will give you an insight into what our existing customers have thought about our products and services.

As always, feel free to look round the risk management shop, to buy some products or to get in touch about any safety issues that are puzzling you.
