JSA for Painting and Coating

Graham Marshall - Friday, January 21, 2011

Painting and coating of surfaces includes application by brush, spray, and roller.

It may include surface preparation and clean-up once the job is finished.

The key risk management activities include:

1.  Prevention of ingestion, inhalation and skin contact with potentially harmful substances;

2.  Prevention of fires and explosions;

3.  Prevention of spills; and

4.  Prevention of falls, dropping objects and collisions with moving machinery.

In our shop you'll find a Job Safety Analysis that gets painters thinking about the hazards they face and how they can control the risk.
