Is United the worst airline in the World?

Graham Marshall - Friday, July 08, 2011
I'm quite a frequent flyer.  I make around 2-3 trips from Australia to Europe or Africa and a couple of trips to the USA each year.  I also make about 10-15 domestic trips within Australia each year.

So I know a bit about a lot of different airlines...

On my current visit to the USA I decided to give United Airlines a try.  Now I've only made two flights with them.

The first was from LA via Denver to Minot in North Dakota in June.  The second was the return from Minot to LAX to meet up with my wife and kids for a holiday starting today (8th July).

Now what I've found is that United Airlines have canceled both my booked flights out of Denver.

The first time resulted in a travel delay of 8 hours.  The delay today adds another 5 hours to the total.

The so-called "customer services" representatives don't quite live up to their job titles either.

I've been flying for business and pleasure for over 25 years and I can't honestly think of missing another flight due to any other airline cancelation.  United Airlines have managed to make this occur twice in two weeks!

So my question for you to consider - is United Airlines the World's worst carrier?

Feel free to leave a comment about your experiences with United Airlines.

PS - once I arrived into LAX they then managed to lose my luggage.
